Pati, tepatnya Kabupaten Pati, adalah sebuah kabupaten di Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Ibukotanya adalah Pati. Kabupaten ini berbatasan berbatasan dengan Laut Jawa di utara,Kabupaten Rembang di timur, Kabupaten Blora dan Kabupaten Grobogan di selatan, serta Kabupaten Kudus dan Kabupaten Jepara di barat.

Kabupaten ini terletak kira-kira 75 km dari Semarang, dan bisa ditempuh dengan mobil kira-kira 1,5 -2 jam. Ada satu makanan khas Pati yang sangat terkenal, namanya Nasi gandul. Sayang sekali, ketika kemarin bertandang ke Pati aku tidak sempat mencicipinya. Tak ada waktu. Menurut informasi, nasi ini diletakkan dalam piring yang dialasi selembar daun pisang, kemudian disiram kuah dengan daging sapi (empal), selain itu ada banyak lauk yang bisa ditambahkan sendiri kalau berminat seperti ayam goreng atau tempe goreng misalnya. Wah..enak sekali kelihatannya..

Pati juga punya slogan yang berbunyi “PATI BUMI MINA TANI”. Maksud slogan itu diharapkan Pati akan menjadi pusat atau sentra perikanan dan pertanian.

Selain melalui jalur Semarang – Demak – Kudus – Pati yang rawan macet karena sempitnya jalan. Jalur ke Pati atau keluar dari Pati ke arah Jogjakarta juga bisa ditempuh melalui jalur Pati – Grobogan – Purwodadi – Solo – Jogjakarta. Jalur ini bisa ditempuh relatif cepat, kurang lebih 3 – 4 jam. Sepanjang perjalanan hampir tak ada hambatan yang berarti seperti kemacetan misalnya. Bagi yang suka pemandangan sawah, hutan, dan bukit kapur, sangat disarankan untuk mengambil jalur ini. Pemandangan itu terhampar di depan mata sepanjang perjalanan, tidak membosankan. Akan tetapi sangat tidak disarankan untuk lewat jalur ini pada malam hari, mengingat harus melalui hutan yang sepi, dan jarang rumah penduduk.
